Do you remember when you were a kid how you had admiration for the animal kingdom? Animals are amazing. We all love them (well, most of us), but kids seem to be particularly enamoured with fuzzy, little faces. Maybe they love them so much because a lot of them are as small as they are, and maybe because animals are so captivatingly different. I can not tell why, but I do know that the fascination is sincere. Books featuring animals and stories about them are always the children's favourite books. All my daughter wants to read for a long time were animal books, and they are still the ones she prefers. The first animal books that she looked at were simple picture books. She didn't care about having a story, she just wanted to look at images of various animals and talk about where they live and what they can do. Though her most favorite animal books were the ones about animals that she could see every day, I have found that she is now more interested in the ones that we don't see. She would like to visit Australia and hold a koala bear. Sometimes, she pretends she is a baby koala, and when you ask her what her favorite animal is she might say a baby kangaroo, which she calls a Joey.
Animal Books Are Educational
She started enjoying animal books that come with a story as she got older. Perhaps it is easier for her to use her imagination with animals as apposed to people. I'm really not sure. This could be the reason why stories like Mickey Mouse are so popular from generation to generation. These animalbooks often portray animals in a very human way, and this might be a great way to learn about human interaction in a way that fascinates them. No matter how old your children might be, they will probably love any animalbooks you give them. As they get older the books need to be more than story books, of course, but there is something about animals that people of all ages love. I don't see any harm in buying animal books that have an educational value. If children keep reading about animals, they will only know more about them and the world they live in, and in the future, they will be more respectful toward animal and people. And it is a good thing for the new generation to learn and for the older generation as well to be reminded of.
